Low voltage

Since the first electric light for public lighting was installed in Spain in 1881 and after the arrival of the Electrotechnical Regulation for Low Voltage (REBT), in 2003, outdoor lighting, which includes any installation (whether public or private ) whose luminous circulation is projected onto an open space for public use; such as parks, public roads, highways, etc., you must carry out a series of inspections.

The initial inspection is mandatory when the power is greater than 5kW and is valid for 5 years from the date of the inspection.

Periodic inspections will be carried out on the outdoor lighting installations that have been subject to initial inspection, as their power is greater than 5kW, and must be carried out every 5 years.

All installations prior to the date of entry into force of the REBT must also comply with the deadlines and validity of the inspection, but they will be inspected according to the regulations under which they were executed.
